July 10, 2008 Resident Camp Participants

Forms for Camp

What to Bring

Class 1 and 2 Medical Form

Class 3 Medical Form

Dear Resident Camp Participants, First let me thank you for signing up for Resident Camp. Those of you that have already experienced it know what a great time the scouts have. For those that this will be there first time at Resident Camp, let me assure you that your son will end camp on Sunday with many new and wonderful memories. Camp starts next week and I wanted to make sure everyone knows what we need to show up with on Thursday morning (9am check-in). The first thing I need Thursday morning is the medical forms. Some things of note about the medical forms, the adult, over 40, form is marked “Class 3” and the scout, and adults under 40 form is marked “Class 1 and Class 2”. Medical forms are good for three years until you reach 40 years of age, then you have to have a physical every year. Scouts and adults under 40 that had a physical three or fewer years ago, still have to fill out the “Class 1” part of the form. You MUST also attach the form that was signed by your doctor when you did have your physical. I know this can be confusing, so PLEASE CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. I wouldn’t want anything to stop you or your scout from being able to enjoy camp. Now a few things that you just need to be aware of… This year’s theme is Native Americans, and each scout will need to make up an Indian name for there time at camp, and will have an opportunity (providing there are open spots) to sleep in a teepee one of the nights. Each year we have two “mail calls” that give you as parents the chance to write a letter for each “mail call” that your camper will get “delivered” to them. For scouts that want to bring a knife, they need to have their whittling chip on them when they use it, and must follow knife safety they learned when they earned their chip. If you are interested in setting up camp Wednesday night, please let me know. Once I talk with Beth, I’ll let those interested know when we can get into our camp on Wednesday. I know I covered a lot, don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions. Sincerely, Paul Rushen
