The pack graduation ceremony is Friday, April 18th.  We need help in some very specific areas to make this event a success.  For those who don't know about this event, it involves a cook-out/covered dish dinner at the Brown Pavilion at Camp Stambaugh (at the top of the big hill).

Service at St Charles Flower Beds PDF Print E-mail

Pack 114:

Every summer we participate in a service project to maintain the flower beds around the rectory building (only) at St. Charles.  Your son can sign up to do this project for one week in the summer.  It basically involves pulling any weeds that may crop up and watering the flowers.  It takes less than an hour and need only be done on one or two days of that week, depending on the weather.  This counts towards the points for the pack service award.

We also need one parent to simply take the sign up sheet for this project and make a phone call to each scout the week before his turn arrives, to remind him.  A very easy, but necessary, job.  If you can help, please contact me.

Pack 114:

The pack graduation ceremony is Friday, April 18th.  We need help in some very specific areas to make this event a success.  For those who don't know about this event, it involves a cook-out/covered dish dinner at the Brown Pavilion at Camp Stambaugh (at the top of the big hill).  The dinner begins at 5:30 PM.  The pack will provide the meat, buns, cups, plates, utensils, and punch.  Each family is asked to bring a covered dish.  If you aren't sure what to bring, I really like cheesy potatoes, preferably with the cornflakes crushed over the top and baked.  At about 6:30 PM, we will trek down the hill to the flag poles and raise the flag.  We will then go to the camp fire circle behind the flag poles and have a ceremony where the boys are officially promoted to their next rank.  We then adjourn to lower the flags and have games out in the field.

To make this happen, we need parent volunteers to do the following:

1.    Purchase the food, which will be reimbursed by the pack.  We simply need someone to do the shopping and take it to the camp early enough to get the cooking started.
2.    We need cooks.  These people need to bring charcoal (which will also be reimbursed by the pack), light the fire in the grill which is already on the site, and start cooking the food so that it will be ready by 5:30 PM.
3.    We need someone to get the punch (reimbursed by the pack), get the big punch dispensers from our treasurer's house and make the punch, then bring it to the camp by no later than 5:30 PM.
4.    The pavilion is presently, well...dirty.  We will clean up the pavilion the night before (Thursday April 17 at 5:30 PM).  Please bring brooms, leaf blowers and garden hoses if you have them.

If you can assist please contact your den leader or pack leaders...

Update Pack Overnighter PDF Print E-mail

Wednesday, 02 April 2008
Just a reminder, money and registration for the Spring Overnighter to the Pro Football Hall of Fame is due this Saturday at the Pinewood Derby.  The fee goes toward the Hall of Fame.  The pack is subsidizing the expenses for the camp site and most of the food.  A sign up sheet is attached, or you can get one at the derby.  Direct Questions to Paul Pinto ...
